A Return Home

It has been a while since I've last written.  I have been away visiting family and friends in North and South Carolina.  I purposely left my computer behind as to have less distractions.

We drove through almost every type of weather imaginable.  The icy rain was my least favorite especially going over the mountains in Virginia.  We made it safely there and back again and it feels so good to be home.

Our visit was threefold.  One, we wanted to visit everyone.  Two, we wanted to check on our house (recently listed for sale).  And three, we wanted/needed to pick up our sweet Lilah Rose.  Recently, the young woman who was caring for her let me know that she thought it best that Lilah Rose return home with us.  You can not imagine how joyful this was to my heart.  We were so torn as what to do last fall and have prayed diligently for God to answer our prayers. I had missed her so much and struggled terribly without her.  All is well now.  Lilah Rose is home.

She is slowly adjusting to Yankee life being a Southern young lady and all.  The weather is probably the biggest change for her. Thankfully, I ordered some warm sweaters and such to keep her nice and warm.  She was uncertain at first with the new house but in no time has settled in.

I pray everyone is staying safe and warm and I hope to catch up shortly.

  1. Hi Gina~

I was so happy to see a post from you, I have been worried about you. I'm so glad that you were able to check on family and your home, I hope all was well. I really believe after everything you have been through with your sweet, Lilah Rose, that she needs and was meant to be with you! I'm so glad she is back where she belongs, what a blessing for you! Driving in bad weather conditions is the worst! So glad that you made it through safely. Hopefully we are at a turning point with Spring right around the corner.

So happy you are back! XOXOX

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  2. Well so glad to see this update. I was missing you and a bit worried as well. There is so much flu around I was afraid maybe you had come down with it Gina. So glad you were able to take a trip to NC/SC. And I am sure Lilah Rose is glad to be back with her mama.

    1. Arlene, my daughter was telling me there is an awful stomach flu going around town here along with the "real" flu. Let's hope it passes all of us by.

  3. Glad you had a safe trip all the way around, Gina! Driving in icky weather isn't fun especially when it is anything in the icy category. Glad you were able to catch up with family and friends. I have been praying for you and Lilah Rose. I am thinking this is where the Lord has intended her to be. Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Connie, I am so thankful that my husband is a good driver. I'd be a bundle of nerves (and so would he!) if I drove in that weather. I look forward to seeing your beautiful cards again!

I’ve driven in plenty of bad weather through the years, with my late hubby, and I know how terrifying it can be. I temper holding onto the seat and just praying. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! I look forward to getting to know you better.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
