Wintry Mix

Tonight we are due for our first snow of the season.  The temperatures have thus far been mild. We have missed the cold wintry weather.  I love staying home all warm and cozy while winter storms do their worst. The worst is not forecast for tomorrow as the snow will turn into a wintry mix of sleet and rain.

How wintry is your weather?

  1. It is lovely here in Alabama. A friend says her daffodils are already up and budding. We have had very mild weather and it looks to continue to be in the mid 50s and low sixties. I will take it. Enjoy your snow!

    1. Arlene, it was cold in SC/NC last weekend. I didn't notice our daffodils blooming yet. I'm glad because they'd catch cold if they did! :-)

  2. Hi Gina~

It just doesn't feel like winter without a good snowstorm! I hope you enjoy your cozy day, and I hope you are reading something wonderful and sipping something hot when it snows!

We had about 5 inches of new snow on Sunday. It was fairly warm today. about 33 degrees so some it has melted, or should I say the roads aren't as slick as they were yesterday. We are suppose to get more snow on Saturday with high winds...always fun. So, I will be enjoying some coziness myself!

    Keep warm!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  3. We had a lovely snow storm on Monday, but last night and today it rained all day, and much of the snow has melted. And then we had avalanche warnings for our area, and there was an avalanche several hours from us. So the weather has been quite strange here for January. We are supposed to get snow again tomorrow. I hope you enjoy your first snow of the season!

    1. Kitty, I think I saw on the news that Texas had some really cold weather recently. I hope you stayed warm and cozy sipping your tea in your beautiful teacups!

  5. We have had a really mild winter here, Gina! We were hit with some snow yesterday that most everyone was unprepared for (the original forecast for the area was a trace/rain mix). We ended up with just over 3 inches and the roads were a mess. I didn't have to go out in it, so it was peaceful and serene as it fell. By the time Saturday arrives, we should be in the 60s again which is not normal for this time of year. Enjoy your first snow of the season and be safe if you have to go out!

    1. Robin, I think we were all spoiled with the warm weather that weekend and then the following one (last weekend) it was so cold! xo

I am so happy that you are getting settled in, and enjoying your first snow fall of the season.
It has been quite warm here in our area, somedays I am able to go outside without a coat. As you know we get so little snow here but when it comes everything just shuts down.~grin~
I like your new blog title, too, I sometimes think of starting over with a new blog! Thank you for the correspondence, I love writing and getting mail.
    Blessings,

Love the little glimpses you have given us of your new home and your thoughts on all the change you have been through. It must be overwhelming at times and I hope you are finding peace and comfort now that you are making your house a home. It must be so wonderful to have your little grandchildren close, too. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! I look forward to getting to know you better.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
