Introducing Miss Lilah Rose

My little dog, a heartbeat at my feet.
~Edith Wharton

Some of you may be familiar with my Lilah Rose and some of  you may not be. I thought I'd introduce her once again.

Lilah Rose is a rescue (for her & for me). We adopted her when she was three months old.  We had no idea what mix she was so we took a dog dna test and discovered she is part chihuahua, part dachshund, part terrier, and part who knows what.  She has a sweet face and chihuahua ears.  Her body is long like a dachshund and her legs are very long like a gazelle.  She is very fast.  I thought perhaps she is part Italian greyhound.  She is all love.

She is my shadow.  Wherever I go, she follows.  She loves to snuggle and sleeps in our bed every night.  She likes to burrow under the covers.

She will be three years old in July.  We don't know the exact date so we celebrate it on the fourth.  I tell her the parade and fireworks are for her! ♥

This photograph was taken a few months ago at our house in North Carolina.

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! I look forward to getting to know you better.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
