Embracing the Familiar

Before I begin a new journey, I take note of where I was and where I am now and where I want to go from here.  What will I need to bring with me?  I could randomly throw everything I see into a suitcase and hope that I will have everything I need.  This works well for some people.  I don't think I'm wired that way.  I take my time and meticulously prepare lists, carefully pack, and then I am ready to begin.

Sometimes the best journey to take is to return to where one began.  So much has changed in the last few months that I feel the need to surround myself with the familiar, the comfortable, and the ordinary.  And so I return to my writing roots ~ By Lantern Light.

My hope for the new year is to embrace the familiar, to be content with the comfortable (and uncomfortable), and to find beauty in ordinary days.

Welcome! My name is Gina and I live with my husband of 39 years in a sweet house in a quaint little historic town in New Jersey. I am a little sparrow of sorts and fly west and north and south and north again.

We have 4 children (now grown) and 4 grandchildren (now little). One of my greatest joys has been and continues to be a stay at home mama and nana.

I am a sinner saved by God's grace alone. I do my best to walk as my Savior did. Thankfully, He is very patient and forgiving.

I love to garden, cook/bake, write, and go for walks.. I also love making cards and crafts to share with others. I am also a retired homeschool teacher (of 20+ years)
